Emergent Physicians of South Florida started in 2018 as a partnership with the Baptist Health Free Standing Emergency Rooms. Its sole purpose is to develop outstanding talent, provider experience and deliver cutting edge ER medicine.

Jose F Llach, DO

Jose F. Llach, DO serves as the Regional Medical Director for Emergent Physicians of South Florida, where he has led the O􏰀-Campus ER program since its inception in January 2018. Drawing from his diverse background—as a former Emergency Room Technician, ER Physician Assistant, and Assistant Medical Director—Dr. Llach brings a well-rounded, systems-level perspective to emergency medicine. His leadership has been instrumental in developing workflows and fostering an environment that empowers both physicians and advanced practice providers to thrive.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Llach enjoys spending quality time with his son, traveling, and staying active in all things related to soccer.

Carlos Penaherrera, MD

Medical Director Baptist Health Hospital at Doral Emergency Department and Palmetto Bay Off-Campus Emergency Department.

Dr. Carlos Peñaherrera is an American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) certified Emergency Medicine physician. He earned both his undergraduate and medical doctorate from Rutgers the State University of New Jersey and completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Staten Island University Hospital.

Since joining Emergent Physicians of South Florida in 2019 Dr. Peñaherrera has maintained a dedication to compassionate and ethical care for the patients of the Miami Dade area. He has served as part of various quality review committees and participated in the 2022 Baptist Strategic Physician Leadership Development Program.

Born in Quito, Ecuador and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Peñaherrera now calls Miami home. His hobbies include traveling, long distance running, staying active and spending time with his dog and family.

Brittany Tyson, MD

Dr. Brittany Tyson is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician with a deep commitment to evidence- based practice, physician education, and compassionate, patient-centered care. She earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Miami and completed her Emergency Medicine residency at the renowned LAC+USC Medical Center, where she developed extensive expertise in trauma, critical care, and high-acuity emergency medicine.

Since joining Emergent Physicians of South Florida in 2021, Dr. Tyson has been a dedicated clinician and now serves as Medical Director for our Country Walk and Coral Way O􏰀-Campus Emergency Departments. In this leadership role, she focuses on advancing clinical quality, supporting ongoing physician education, and fostering a collaborative and empathetic emergency department culture.

Born and raised in Stuart, Florida, Dr. Tyson now lives in Miami with her husband and two sons. She is a lifelong Hurricanes sports fan and enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and getting outdoors whenever she can.

Ari Davis, DO

Associate Medical Director, Miami Lakes Emergency Department

Dr. Ari Davis is a board-certified emergency medicine physician through the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) and serves as Associate Medical Director at the Miami Lakes Emergency Department. He has been with the group since 2022. Originally from Boston, he brings his hometown pride and lifelong support of Boston sports teams to South Florida. He completed his medical training at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, where he developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practice.

In his role, Dr. Davis is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to every patient while fostering a collaborative, family-oriented environment among sta􏰀. His focus on both clinical excellence and team culture helps ensure that patients receive not only the best medical care but also the compassionate support of a cohesive emergency department team.

Abdul Memon, PA-C

Abdul S. Memon, PA-C is the Director of Advanced Practice Providers for Emergent Physicians of South Florida, overseeing all sites within the organization. He graduated from Miami Dade College in 2010 with Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, earned his Master’s degree from A.T. Still University and completed his Doctorate in Medical Science (DMSc) in 2019 at the University of Lynchburg, with a concentration in Administration & Emergency Medicine Management.

In addition to emergency medicine, Abdul has a broad background in interventional cardiology, regenerative medicine & sports medicine. He also holds the prestigious Certificate of Added Qualifications in Emergency Medicine (CAQ-EM), a distinction earned by only about 7% of physician assistants nationwide.

Abdul Memon is deeply involved in education and clinical leadership. He manages students rotating through the emergency department, leads APP Fellowship Program & contributes to advancing clinical informatics to optimize patient care & provider e􏰀iciency. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Miami Dade College, Barry University, & Florida International University and teaches PANCE Board preparation courses for PA programs nationwide.
Outside of the ER, Abdul Memon enjoys traveling, dining at the hottest spots around the country, attending his son’s basketball games, spending quality time with his family, golfing and reading about functional medicine.

Blake Carrillo, PA-C

As the Lead Physician Assistant at Miami Lakes and Palmetto Bay O􏰀-Campus Emergency Rooms, Blake Carrillo, PA-C, brings over a decade of experience in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. Since graduating in 2013 with an Associate in Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Miami Dade College, Blake has honed his expertise in high-pressureenvironments. Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed bythe State of Florida, he has been a vital part of the emergency medicine team since joining in 2020.

With a robust background in neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery, Blake specializes in acute care, diagnostics, and emergency interventions. His approach prioritizes compassion, precision, and collaboration to ensure optimal patient outcomes. At Miami Lakes and Doral, Blake leads with a commitment to advancing emergency care access and empowering patients through education.
